What Your Voice Is Saying About You
That You Don't Know It's Saying!

(We'll keep this heading the same, but change the information from time to time.)

Research proves that your voice and speech affects your listeners up to three times as much as what you say!

Perhaps you never realized just how much your voice and speech affect your listeners. A study published in Speech Monographs shows that in introductory speeches speeches, such as job interviews or meeting new friends:

The sound of your voice affects your listeners nearly twice as much as what your say!

And in persuasive speeches, such as a sales pitch or a political speech:

The sound of your voice affects your listeners three times as much as what you say!

The study found that in self-introductory speeches 38% of the speaker's effectiveness was attributable to the content of the speech and 62% to the delivery of the speech.

And that in persuasive speeches a whopping 76% of the effectiveness was found to be attributable to delivery, while only 24% of the effectiveness was due to content. (Taken from Relationships of Content and Delivery to General Effectiveness, by Paul Heinberg, published in Speech Monographs, vol. 30, 1963.)

When you realize that delivery is prinarily the way you talk rather than what you say, you understand how important good speech is to your success.

No wonder that when Demosthenes, the world's most legendary speaker, was asked, "What are the three most important things about speaking?", he replied, "Delivery, delivery, delivery."

Of course, what you say is important, but the way you say it is perhaps even more important.

How To Make Your Voice More Persuasive and Powerful
(We'll keep this heading the same, but change the information from time to time.)

The Five Bases of Good Voice and Speech

You can speak with more power and authority, in any situation! It's easy! In just nine short weeks you can have a voice that literally draws people in to listen to you.

A charismatic voice is built on five bases:

  1. Relaxation: The muscles that affect your voice and speech are the muscles up the back of your neck, across your shoulders, and down your spine. There are three simple, effective exercises that release unnecessary tension in these areas and help to make your voice more full and resonant.
  2. Breathing: Good breathing habits help give you a more relaxed and resonant voice. Most people only use half their breathing power. That means they only have half their vocal power. Two exercises will tune up your breathing and power up your voice.
  3. Sound Production: Your vocal cords create your basic sound. You have control over how easily and effectively you make sound. The best sound is not breathy or tight. It is clear and free. The two best exercises for strengthening your voice are found in the Power Speech tapes.
  4. Resonance: There are four basic resonances in your speaking voice-- (1) chest resonance, (2) mouth resonance, (3) mask resonance, and (4) head resonance. You can develop these resonances to make your voice more expressive, free, and persuasive.
  5. Articulation: You must speak clearly. If you can't be understood
